the IUD is supposed to have 'threads' that help when it's time to take that thing out. but in many cases, including mine, the threads break off and fall out.

So i was in the stirrups, no numbing or anesthesia and he's using this long metal thing with a HOOK AT THE END and he's kind of just...fishing for it.

the pain? insane. the nurse in there with me actually told him to stop. he came around and said to me, "i can see it, and I can get it if you give me one more try." and the nurse is all 'you DO NOT have to, we can take it out with you under semi-sedation' but i have a terrible time with any anesthesia, so I told the Dr to go for it.

one more incredibly painful stick and drag and that effing thing was out. I actually needed about 15 minutes afterwards just lying on the table in the fetal position recovering from that final stick.

I've had 2 in-office procedures at the gyno, and honestly, they were not ANYTHING like my gynocological surgeries.
