Orlando and Miami can also be brutal, but Jacksonville was hell.
I mean, wherever the Villages is, that's the DEEPEST circle of hell. I think it's like 50 miles outside of Orlando?
Oh, and my mom had once seen an alligator eat a small dog in Florida, so she kept super-strength grips on us when we were even vaguely near any body of water, small or large, that was not the actual ocean or a pool. That she had checked. LOL. So as a child, I thought going to Florida meant that an alligator was going to eat me. I am vaguely surprised I was ever talked into going back, lol.
