We only went to Miami/Miami Beach, turning me off to FL forever.

I did visit Key Biscayne ca. 1991. I loved it but I pretended it wasn't FL. No bugs, lovely beaches, and lots of people from the Cuban diaspora. Lots of fun. I went to visit gf and her family from Colombia whose family fled Cuba. Ridiculously wealthy. OMG, their home in KB was gorgeous.
