Liev Schreiber was especially great. It was a small, intimate theater (about 350 seats) and we had center 12th row orchestra seats. I don’t usually do the stage door thing but I was waiting outside the theater, waiting for a car to pick me up, and both Liev Schreiber and Justice Smith came out and were both very friendly and gracious, chatting, signing autographs, letting peeps take selfies. I somehow missed Maggie Siff because she walked in the other direction. Both Liev Schreiber and Maggie Siff walked home from work (or walked to wherever they were going after work). They were likely staying in the West Village where the Minetta Lane Theater is. The only actor who was picked up by a car was Justice Smith. We figured that since he is a young, up-and-coming actor, he was probably heading to someplace out of the neighborhood, maybe even Brooklyn. He really held his own with the two more seasoned actors.
Amazingly, I may be getting free tix for a second play at Minetta Lane on Thursday evening, starring Hugh Jackman and Ella Beatty (she is Warren Beatty and Annette Bening’s daughter). I can’t believe how lucky I am this week, theatrewise. I’m seeing a third play on Saturday night (Taylor Mac’s new play titled Prosperous Fools). I don’t usually get to see 3 plays in a week but when 2 of them are free — I can afford that!
