weather yesterday (and today is/will be even wetter), but there was a window of no rain in the afternoon which was perfectly timed, so everyone stayed dry. I got to see cousins from Mom's side that I don't get to see nearly enough, and I met some of Bro's co-workers and casual friends*. And the food...ooof. I ate until I made myself sick <g>. One small hiccup: I tried to make watermelon feta mint skewers but the feta kept crumbling and wouldn't stay on the stick, so instead I just threw it all in a bowl. It turned out well...well enough that for literally the first time
ever, I actually enjoyed eating watermelon. But still, I left the remaining salad there (and the few remaining no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies), though I did take some of the cookies my cousin-in-law baked because she makes excellent cookies.
* honestly I think those "casual friends" were more my nephew's and niece's friends--people Bro knows due to frequenting the various upscale bars and dining establishments his "kids" have worked at. Bro has never been the type to have a wide circle of friends...but everyone was really nice, and it was good to see folks come hang out (and nosh) in celebration of my awesome brother.
