While it took Warner CEO David Zaslov about two years to come to the conclusion that buying iconic HBO and changing the name to Max was a bad idea, I’m happy that he finally realized that he was wrong and that — surprise! — HBO, with its rich history of producing quality, creative TV is the main thing people wanted from “Max”, not a bunch of bad Discovery shows. Hopefully, this bodes well for HBO’s future and plenty of new quality programs. It was so incredibly stupid buying HBO and then erasing the name (similar to deciding to buy fashion icon Chanel and immediately changing the name). Long live HBO, home of many of the best shows ever produced in the history of television.
