friend has a small role in it. The play is about artist Marc Chagall after his wife Bella died. She was his muse and the love of his life for decades. She is floating in a lot of his paintings. It’s about healing from profound loss via his creativity and art. It sounds interesting. It’s a small theatre that has been in the East Village for 50+ years staging lots of new plays. In a lot of ways, I like going to Off-Broadway theatre better than going to Broadway theatre. Less money invested means more room for taking chances and less safe material.
After the show, we’re going to Veselka, a Ukrainian restaurant a block away for after-theatre supper at 11pm. Yum. Pierogies. It should be a fun night.
