Tolerance is no longer a thing....how did we get here?
THIS. When did we lose the ability to politely disagree with one another? To have a civil discussion despite each being passionate about opposing views? To still be accepting of someone when they agree with us on 19 important issues but not on the 20th? I generally prefer to steer clear of "heavy" discussions, especially about politics, but now I absolutely dread any time the conversation turns to politics or certain social issues if the people discussing them are not people whose opinions I'm certain on and share :-( As someone who hates confrontation, it's easier for me to just stay silent than to try to discuss my POV.
