for me, additionally, there is SO MUCH going on with our gov't that time i would have spent here is spent checking on the dow, finding out what new announcements are being made by You Know Who.
Oh chloe, I'm so sorry. I literally the day after the elections quit Twitter and stopped watching my beloved late night shows (because of their politically laden monologues). I no longer watch the national nightly news and I will tune into the local news when it's just local stuff. My husband? He checks the stock market constantly. Not hourly, but every 20 minutes. And he's done this for the past several years. It's not healthy (sorry). To me, it's kind of like looking at Realtor.com to see what my house is worth...did it go up or down? Unless I'm looking to sell my house right now (I'm not), who cares? My house is worth what it's worth when I put it on the market. And yes, it's wise to track the market in general to track trends. But not that closely. Unless you're a stock broker. Or looking to sell NOW.
and honestly, my mental health is shot. i'm tired of waiting for the next shoe to drop, but i feel like i can't post it HERE because i'll get the 'shouldn't this be on the PC board?' and it's not even about politics, its about how utterly CRAPPY people are treating each other.
It's insane. Racism and bigotry, sexism and homophobia, etc. are all political now. SCIENCE is political now. It's a freaking joke. But I can't engage anymore. My mental health cannot take keeping up with the stupid crap that comes out of the WH, etc. every day. I won't last four years if I paid attention. Sorry if that makes me part of the problem. I dunno.
i'm full up of a lot of FEELINGS that I kind of feel i can't share here. and feelings can't be justified with links and polls.
Word.
so that's where I'm at these days. also, my computer died and i'm just trying to make it through on this laptop till my new monitor gets here. LOL
RIP chloe's monitor.
