Willow should not see her kids until she gets serious therapy. It totally makes sense to me because she blindly followed a cult leader, and then when Michael was gone and Drew went after her, she allowed herself to get seduced again. She never would have slept with Drew if she'd know he was having sex with her mother and blamed him for loosing her kids.
However, when Michael refused to allow her to see her kids even after she broke up with Drew, she went back to Drew because it was clear it was the only way she could get her kids back. I don't think she kept the gun in her room so Michael would be blamed. But the choice was lie and let Michael go to jail, which would mean she would probably get her kids again, or go to jail insuring she wouldn't see her kids again. In her mind, Michael's refusal to allow her to see her kids -- even if it was supervised visits -- meant going back to Drew was her only option. She knew he would play dirty to get her kids back.
Her messing with Sasha and Michael's baby showed that she was having a mental crisis. It is totally believable that she would blame Drew in her state and try to kill him.
This being a soap, she'll get the mental treatment she needs to rejoin society and she'll be back in the general GH population when this storyline winds down.
