Our introduction to Sidwell was his kidnapping and attempting to kill Lucky, Portia's doctor snugglebunny (forgot his name) and ANNA!!!!! Yet he is welcomed into Port Charles. Laura, Lucky, Anna and others involved act like they have no choice but to accept him as a law abiding citizen.
It would be one thing if Sidwell came from nowhere, and is introducing himself as a wealthy guy hiding his nefarious dealings. But he came onto show after kidnapping Lucky and Portia's doctor snugglebunny (forgot his name) and attempted to kill both of them and ANNA!!!!!
This is one of those soap opera situations when a short-term character is hired full time and the audience has to be good sports. Which would be easier if Sidwell wasn't such a Snidley Whiplash type villain.
Plus, Marco started working for Alexis AFTER he assured her he had nothing to do with his father's business. He said the same thing when he romanced Lucas. Yet he is very involved in his father's business and Alexis looks like an idiot for believing him and hiring him. And warning bells should have gone for for Lucas when Marco asked him to move into Wyndemere instead of the two of them getting their own apartment.
