Drew was a decorated war hero until his disappearance in July 2012. Rumors of desertion swirled, but in reality, Hank, working for Henrik Faison, ambushed Drew on orders from Helena Cassadine as part of a conspiracy orchestrated by her and Cesar Faison. Their plan was to brainwash Drew into believing he was his twin brother, Jason, and send him to Port Charles as a memory-wiped assassin. Drew was chosen because Jason’s prior brain injuries made him resistant to such manipulation. The scheme began in October 2012 when Faison shot Jason and dumped him in the harbor. Capturing both twins, Henrik enlisted Dr. Andre Maddox to implant Jason’s memories into Drew, while Faison and Helena used brainwashing techniques to condition his mind.
