they just happen to be a criminal organization that eventually threatened to blow her up? Don't forget Pascal said they "allowed her to go to Paris". I dont think she was a prisoner, but someone was pulling the strings and while they gave her some liberties, she couldn't just leave the resort whenever she wanted, she said so to Pascal numerous times. She was clearly under some kind of threat. This is why this show sucks, the writing is always murky.
As for what she told Jason and Liesl/Neener, she could be lying in order to not tell them what the real reason was. I thought she was maybe being paid for her research, but she seems broke. Did they freeze her assets? She hasn't really told Jason much and he knows it. She's not being honest with anyone.
