We had Jason and Britt had good chemistry and hints that a romance could work out. After decades of yearning and acceptance it wouldn't happen, Carly had just married Jason. It could have been so interesting for them to have their wedding night and then have Sonny return from his stint with amnesia.
A Jason, Sonny, Carly, Britt story had real potential. But when Steve left, that central story had to be redone without Jason.
Britt and Jason, as a couple or not, were tier one characters and left huge holes that needed to be fixed on the fly.
I would love to see Patrick Mulcahy return, but only if he ad Frank Valentini were on the same page on the direction the show was going to go and Mulcahy was given an opportunity stir things up and follow through.
