I would have been so ticked off if the writers had Liz saying "yes." Lucky has EARNED her distrust, and it will/should take TIME for him to re-earn it. And sticking around for a few months after he's deserted her so often and for so long doesn't cut it.
Lucky and Liz fans deserve an actual STORY that shows them getting back together. AND those of us who were thrilled Jonathan/Lucky was returning to show deserve a storyline that makes him a central character in the show or else it's just a waste of Jonathan's talent and our time.
Hopefully Liz saying no is a hint that the show is actually going to give them something to do and start actually utilizing Lucky.
