Two people fit the bill for me. But the top choice edges out my honorable mention based on range.
My choice: Nicholas Alexander Chavez (ex-Spencer). He is theater trained. GH was his first television role. Aside from his initial two weeks, where he was literally pointed to things off-camera in scenes--he quickly proved himself to be a raw talent. He held his own with GF and MW. The latter, he auditioned with! He nabbed a Daytime Emmy after his first year on the show. Not too shabby.
HM: Kimberly McCullough (Robin). She literally grew up on the show. Robin was mostly serious and I don't recall seeing her showcase her comedic side. I am happy she has found success as a director. I do wish she would direct some GH episodes.
