Gio is barely out of high school. Plus his character doesn't appear to have been a major party animal back when he was in Bensonhurst becoming a violin virtuoso. 'm 70 and had I run into Rocco, I wouldn't have known he had alcohol poisoning. I would have assumed he was drunk and needed to sleep it off. I don't drink and when I'm with family and friends who are drinking, it isn't to excess.
Gio honestly didn't know better. So while Dante had the right to get upset at Geo, he shouldn't treated Gio as if it was his fault Rocco got drunk, and intentionally ignored how seriously drunk Rocco was.
