has met ZM in person for the first time, could Trump be a little smitten? Trump seemed to like Mamdani and treat him with respect. We don’t know what happened behind closed doors. We only know what was presented to the press.
One thing I do know is that Mamdani is much much smarter than Trump and their chess game has only just begun. I have much faith that Mamdani will fight back when/if Trump sends the military to NYC, tries to take NYC over and/or significantly cuts federal funding to NY. But for today, Mamdani came out of this meeting with Trump saying that he wants Mamdani to succeed and he wants NYC to do well. Not exactly music to MAGA ears, who hate NYC with a passion.
We’ll see what happens next.
