I was not happy for a variety of reasons that 2020 was clearly Bernie vs. Joe, but one of them WAS their ages. I think Biden was too old to run for two terms and always should have stuck to only serving one. I think his ego overran his sense, and I DO think he was struggling, especially that last year. I saw his health take a pretty rapid downturn. And I was frustrated to see Democrats brush it aside or refuse to accept it. I felt like we were supposed to be the party that didn't do that, after Reagan. I was particularly radicalized actually this year when we had multiple active members of Congress die in office, and mostly not from anything unexpected - including my own. I went for months without proper representation in Congress because we absolutely refuse to see that this is a real problem in politics - WE don't let the candidates or the politicians go either, if they feel familiar or safe, even when it results in disaster.
SO. Having said all that.
WTF IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW?! WTF. WTFFFF. Trump has fully lost his marbles. When you actually see him, he appears to have three modes: incoherent, vacant, or literally asleep. It seems like he's a little better in the mornings, which is very common with the onset of something like Alzheimer's (I say that because that's what his father died of, but since he's constantly lying about his health, hard to say what's going on here). I have noticed that definite droop to one side of his mouth, which I remember from when my grandfather started having strokes. He's straight up disappearing for a week or so on end and coming back with it being clear he was getting infusions. He went straight from (pretty obviously flunking even from how HE described it) a cognitive exam to an MRI. What is known to happen when you fail a cognitive test at his age? An MRI.
This is just so frustrating as someone who AGREED that the Dems were in the wrong about Biden and his age. Trump's symptoms are FAR more alarming and obvious, and yet what am I hearing? Mostly crickets. Where the **** is Jake Tapper and his whole-*** book about Biden NOW? Trump appears to completely not understand that a medical crisis is happening right behind him, and that's for the part of the meeting he was awake - if that's what you want to call it - for. I don't expect consistency from the MAGAs, I never look there for that. I expect more from our legacy media. Even though I'm constantly let down, lol, I still feel like we should expect and DEMAND more. It's become increasingly obvious Jake Tapper is conservative - even one of his reality-free ramblings about Gen Z on the podcast. He declared that he basically can say for sure that Gen Z is just flat-out more conservative and that's been some permanent shift, because of what he hears from his kids. Well, don't you look stupid as **** now, Tapper? And even though I can now see he's more conservative, I'm still going to demand more from him as long as he calls himself a journalist.
