By having the House go into pretty much a permanent pro forma session, the House is done. They are in fact allowing the Executive to pass laws and make spending decisions while they do nothing.
Then, they sit until next year when they believe they will enhance the House majority through all mid-decade districting.
Having the Senate in session means nothing - other than they can continue to install unqualified judges and personnel - they cannot pass anything without the House.
HOW IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS? This is the most serious of all the Constitutional crises, and yet, nothing. Everyone is treating this as business as usual. Because, for now, because other shutdowns under tRump lasted longer, it seems to be normal.
It is not.
This is how fascism takes hold. Deferring to the Executive on every major decision. how they are still getting paid is beyond me.
