For two decades, she watched Gio interact with BLQ and Dante--knowing the entire time he was their child. I mean who does that? Her motives were not pure--they were selfish. If you wanted your grandchild, then you should have offered to raise him yourself. At the very least, she should have told Gio/BLQ/Dante once he was old enough.
